Kosei K1 Racing 17x8.5 +40
I don't have a set (yet), but just noticed that Kosei is apparently making the K1 Racing in 5x100 again. Specs are 17x8.5 +40, which should actually be fairly decent fitment. I love these wheels whenever I see them on E30/36s at the track.

i had a set of these on my e30 and e36, great looking wheels which always have a special place in my heart

Awesome that these are hubcentric, and just about ideal fitment for gen2. They are now manufactured completely different then the older low pressure cast wheels. I just hope they are at least as strong. I'm considering a set of these for next track season, as well as Konig Heliograms which have a similar fitment but with slightly lower offset.

Will they have any fitment issues on a 1st gen?

I almost pulled the trigger on these with a set of K615+’s from TR the other day. After a little research, I found a lot of the BMW guys were cracking the spokes on the older K1’s. Like all the way through. Kinda scary as I’d be using them as HPDE wheels. I’ll see what I can find about the newly manufactured ones.

Really interested in seeing these on the first gen. Had them on my old Miata years ago, would be fun to put them on my BRZ.

But like I mentioned I am running spacers up front due to some camber. Idk how much I have since I haven't gotten an alignment lol |
I pulled the trigger and should be getting my set Monday. I had them on my old NB Miata, can't wait to put them on my BRZ.

Got them mounted and really love how they look.
They are almost perfectly flush, the fronts could probably come out a few mm if you're super picky. I chose to go with 225/45 instead of 245/40 to try and retain as much of the stock balance and feel as possible. Glad I did as there isn't much room between the tire and strut perch. I'm at -1.6 camber in the front with Whiteline camber bolts. https://i.imgur.com/LqCy0vo.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/bI591mW.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/TH2CAMp.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/op2poxG.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/WLloIXY.jpeg Edit: wanted to add I had a great experience with Tire Rack, they were going to ship it next day but I wanted the latest date code (41st week of 2023) instead of the local distributor which was a 40ish week of 2022. Still got them in just 3 days. |
Pretty sure you need Coilovers for 245s so smart move going with 225s ha.
