Front passenger buckle issue

The female end of my passenger buckle won't receive the actual seatbelt occasionally (I wanna say like 90% of the time honestly) but the 10% of the time it does work, it works perfectly.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Do I need to remove it to inspect it? Is it possible to open it without damaging it? Has this happened to anyone else at all?

When it works it works without issue.
But when it doesn't it's basically like putting a key that doesn't fit, into a locked door. It won't even receive the seatbelt.

Appreciate any help guys

There might be debris in there. You can remove the buckle and try cleaning it

Worse comes to worst, you can replace the buckle altogether. eBay often has them used

Like your phone charger port, it can get stuffed with pocket lint.

My mom used to carry crackers in her purse. We had a good laugh together when I fixed her phone by picking out the crumbs.
