help a dummy buy a used q300 exhaust?
 

like I said, I'm not versed in exhausts but someone four towns over is selling a q300 that looks good. any tips on what to look for? his exhaust looks good but what is that black tape/burned section about? thanks to anyone who can school me on this! he's asking $450

Toss him a super low ball. Might be worth learning that you would've hated it.

Yes low ball him and when he agrees to it go there to check it out, shake the muffler, and if rattles you need to low ball him even more or even walk away.

Even more, the Q300 will get louder pretty quick due to the packing wearing out. So if it is already compromised at this point, who knows how it could affect the overall quality in the long-run.
