Trouble with driver side window after repair
I recently got myself a brand new door after a minor accident. The door and glass were replaced with brand new ones, with the other components transferred over.
However, the window had a few issues. It would jig a little before going up and down, and would make a very loud clack when lowered or raised at midpoint. Also the window would screech as it fully lowers into the door. Clacking sound: https://youtu.be/sgx7z91YhvM?si=Up-_3-BRg14SCyW2 Screeching sound (WARNING: LOUD): https://youtu.be/1QnpDaxvqig?si=Wa9SnPD2GzgJaEGb I'd be sending it back to the service center (official Toyota) under repair warranty but I wanted to understand the problem that I'm facing in the first place? Should I still be using my window at this point? @Ultramaroon or anyone else? Thanks! |
It might just be loose motor, track, or regulator bolts.
The door panel is pretty easy to pop off to take a look. The screeching woke up my dog though. |
The pads are going to scratch the glass. The whole mechanism needs to be aligned properly.

There are also adjustable stabilizers on the inside at the top front and rear of the door frame. If they are too tight, they will scratch the window. Can feel for them by operating the mechanism with the door open. |
take it back to whoever performed the repair. it's not done correctly yet.
