How f’ed is too F’ed
 

So long story short i spun out in third gear[emoji2365]wheel slammed into the curb and airbag decided to Ejecto. Upon my inspection i tried to find the cause of the airbag deployment i found this. My guess that its totaled right? It seems instead of the coilover failing it bent the frame because i didnt hit the body just the wheel. From all these years of only driving it once or twice a week from 2018 with 65k miles til now with only 77k miles I never thought this would happen. Well, you're right that the bend in the unibody there is a main concern.

I once had someone hit my right in the rear wheel in my WRX. Stock suspension. Bent the strut, but luckily didn't harm the strut amount or rest of the body itself. Insurance paid for a new strut, wheel bearing (precautionary), etc.

Best advice I can give is to head to a body/frame shop, show it to them, and see what they can do. It's nothing you can fix and nothing us internet people can fix.

They very well might be able to pull, hammer, or whatever that out to get the strut top to realign, if there's any issue. It doesn't appear structural. If anything it's going to be a matter of getting your alignment to work again once the coilover and any other parts are replaced.

It's likely the subframe mounting point that is pushed in. Unless it bent the rear subframe it likely pushed the body at the other mounting points too. Need to get it on a frame machine to know for sure.

the good news is from the 2 pictures, it appears that the side body panel is still straight and not rippled anywhere, and the trunk appears to line up with the rest of the car. that would indicate to me that the overall body near the impact is still in good shape, and could be corrected.

but only a body guy is going to be able to tell you further.

Looks like OP has an answer. I do want to hear the long story though.

Sooo basically me being too confident i was heading home from doing a drive log. My tuner needed pull logs and my traction control kicks in during the log messing with the data so he said if I’m confident to turn traction off. I made a big mistake with not letting my tires warm up and i sent it. I started the pull in 2nd but it was spinning so i go to third everything was fine and maintainable just as i let off at 6500rpm the car decides to dance a little. I slammed on the brakes like a idiot and tried to counter steer which worked but this curb was closer out then the rest. Basically i spent more time building the car then driving and understanding the car noob shit! The insurance did total it due to too many components needing to be replaced. Most were aftermarket items which i told them ill replace myself, but i guess with policy they are required to replace everything not just some. Good thing is the damage is mild everything lines up the shop said the most was the airbag stuff. Im buying the car back and get it straight the only problem is idk how the airbag system go like what do i replace and how to program it to mate with vehicle

So you were doing 2nd and 3rd gear pulls in a parking lot for data logging ?

Hopefully you find a better road for this stuff when you get it back together.

Naw it was a straight away street but for some reason i chose to drive in the lane by the curb. I probably wont street drive it anymore i live by a track so itll most likely be track only but we’ll see

Replace the blown bags, any seat belts that went off, the impact sensors that triggered, and have the srs module (under the cubby in front of the shifter) reset by a reset company (I had Safety Restore reset mine ~$50).

but if you're going to turn it into a track-prepped car, absolutely nothing of the srs system is required by any sanctioning body that a roll cage and proper race harnesses won't replace.
