Supercharger/ESC on BRZ with 4.88 FD MT

Getting the itch and I'm selling my motorcycle so I'll have some funds to put into a new toy.

Currently as it sits it's a 15 BRZ MT with 4.88 FD and a lightened flywheel. When I had these upgrades done I was certain I wanted to keep it NA. I was wrong.

I know a 4.88 FD is less than ideal for FI and I've read all the threads. But damn this itch is bad, so I'm considering an SC or Torqamp.

Thoughts?

Edelbrock's look so factory, would defiantly be my choice of SC..

Def badass. Manual? Did you change your final drive?

Thanks, but looking for someone with a final drive to chime in for their experience with an SC.

What are your highway RPM’s with the 4.88 finals?
I had purchased a used 4.11 pumpkin with the intention of doing a 4.88 or 4.56 final. After installing the Edelbrock I re-sold that pumpkin. For street my stock 4.11’s are fine although I wouldn’t mind shorter gearing on track.

Roughly 3700 RPM @ 120km cruising. I feel like I'm going to blow through my gears real quick with an SC but I think it will be fun from 3rd and on. Can anyone else offer any insight? There must be a few guys running SC with a 4.88.

They mostly turn back stock (4.1) or even taller (3.7).

My advice is not to use the torque amp. I have one and its great but with that gearing I don't know if it would be worth it. I am on stock gearing with LW flywheel and it revs through 1st and 2nd really quickly, and I have to have TC off completely in those gears (not VSC sport) because it will spin sometimes and the car will try to correct it. My advice is to go traditional SC for the higher HP gains as you would benefit more with your gearing.

Sounds advice, thanks. I have been following your Torqamp journey closely and it's what made me want one at first. I'll probably pick up an HKS since they are the most affordable right now.
