Street Prepared - Build Conversation

I recently converted my car to E85 which took me out of Street Touring. Since running in Xtreme Street doesn't really enthuse me, I'm looking at moving all the way to Street Prepared since the 2013's are now in DSP with full prep.

So, I'm looking for recommendations for suspension setup.

Here is what I have now suspension-wise:

Shaftworks USA Coilovers - Entry level
RacerX Front LCA - not yet installed
Whiteline Rear LCA new version - installed but will move to another car
Whiteline Rear Toe Links - installed but will move to another car
RacerX front and rear end links

I'm thinking that replacing the Whiteline stuff with parts with spherical bushings is the right path and a mix of RacerX/Verus/SPL is where I'm headed.

I'm also thinking I will probably use the car going forward for Time Trials in Max 4 but that's a stretch objective.

Thoughts on any of this stuff from anyone with experience in Street Prepared?

I’ve dabbled in SP-lite, burned up a few A7’s on another car. Wheels and tires are the biggest factor, your build will cater to that, otherwise most of your setup work will be thrown out the window when you finally commit to cutting the fenders and going for the 275-335 wide A7. So that being the case why not skip the sphericals and stay in ESP with limited prep? I’ve got an old set of A7’s 225 on my backup wheels I’m going to try soon, just a straight STX car with old hohos and see how it goes.

Edit: 295/35/17 has a 25.3” diameter probably the biggest you’ll get without getting crazy, 275 is the runner up.

Well, you're not making a bad point but I do already have the front LCAs because I'm pretty sure I have a bent LCA already. I figured that if I'm going to go to the trouble of swapping it that I may as well start moving to the future. I don't know that I'm against cutting the fenders but just not yet. :)

Just FYI. RacerX rear LCA's may not work with the Shaftworks coilovers. I had issues with them with my Annex which have similar bodies to the Shaftworks.

It appears that RacerX no longer sells them so it's either Verus or SPL for those.

How are you liking your coilovers ? I have a set coming myself

Tolerance issue, I did some sanding on mine to clearance them before going back to stamp steel spc/whiteline lca which have enough ‘squish’ available to make putting them on easy, or at least doable with a prybar. Seeing some experienced SM builds and having those racerx lca’s fail me on the street I’m sticking with the steel for most projects. Probably not a big deal for most people because racecar.

I like them a lot. I've made several other changes at the same time but the car feels a lot more stable and is very easy to manage in tight turns for autocross and it worked great at the track.

Thanks for the feedback :)

I see Lugod has been dabbling in ESP with his late model 1st gen with good success. 295/15's! Curious what 15" wheel would fit over the front brakes and what steering limiters are needed.

I had 295/35/17 square at one point. It's doable, but offsets, camber, and clearance (esp in the front) are going to have to be just right for it to work.
