Gas Smell (Cabin/Exhaust)

Hello, I haven't used the car for a few weeks and today i tried starting it.

After a few seconds the idle went up and down (TC/ABS) lights turned on and off for a bit then the smell of rich gasoline inside the cabin and upon checking the exhaust white smoke and the strong smell of gasoline as well. After the 3rd start no more light/smell and idle went back to normal. Anyone experienced something similar?

I will be able to bring it to my trusted shop but due to conflict of schedule it might be a week or so.

For the time being i just wanted to know if someone experienced any similar issues. Thank you

I suggest you open the hood and if you don't smell gas, fire it up and drive it for a few miles to get it good and warmed up. Then, let it sit for a few hours and fire it up again and see if it behaves. If it still does it, take it into the shop.

Personally, I haven't noticed that happening since they started fuel injecting cars.

Bubba says that the automatic choke is stuck - I slapped him :slap: for you.

;)

Sounds like a coil not firing initially and the cylinder pumping raw fuel.

I will try this, i tried firing it up again today and after a few revs the smell of gas is noticable on the exhaust (white faint smoke) haven't driven it around but i might just do that. Pressing on the gas just a little makes the RPM Dip around 400-500

It ain't supposed to be going that way - :eyebulge:

Is your car showing any codes (like a CEL)?

If so, have you read them, if so, what are they?
