Need advice

My brother just picked his brand new ultramarine 2013 fr-s yesterday manual. I get a call this morning and he is broke down on the side of the road. It is towed to the dealer and the service mgr said his clutch is fried.... He only put 48 miles on it since yesterday and he was not doing anything bad, mind you he is 36 yrs old. Dealer put on 15 miles and when he picked it up we smelled something funny and just thought it was because it was a new car burning off new liquids... The dealer agreed to cover it under warranty luckily but should we be wary of anything else that might be wrong? Thank you for any help and advice. By no means did we abuse it at all btw so I am curious how solid is the clutch?

Maybe it was missing transmission oil? Did he notice any hard time shifting the gears?

Agree ^. I believe someone else had this happen to him. Car had no tranny fluid from factory.

It was hard shifting just though he was taking it too easy... Any way to prove it was lack of tranny fluid, and any other possible damage it could have done in the long run other then he clutch?

no trans fluid from factory is just uncalled for

How do you fry a clutch with no transmission fluid? shouldnt that just stuff up the synchros and gears? Dealership "trying" to do burnouts before they gave him the car? even if your brother didnt know how to drive a manual, no way in hell will you fuck up a clutch in 48 miles..wtf
