Purchasing GR86

Hi all,

New job assignment requires long commute so using that excuse to get a daily. Had a 13 BRZ but switching over to the Toyota side. Any dealership recommendations? I really want to get a Neptune but it's looking pretty sparse out there. I've called a few but most say to put an order in with no actual time frame for the car to arrive or charging supra prices for it 🤦🏾*♂️. Appreciate it!

No such thing as putting an order in for the Toyota, it's not how Toyota rolls with their new cars.

Subaru gives you the ability to order, Toyota puts you on a waitlist and that waitlist is pretty much RNG.

You're lucky if you get a Manual in the trim you want, outside of that color is a free for all. It's just a random allocation system. You may be able to coordinate with your dealership to have their inventory manager pull some strings but that's probably not going to happen at MSRP.

As far as good dealers in the area to work with I purchased mine in my hometown of Warrenton, VA @ MSRP from Warrenton Toyota. They're first come, first serve. No down payment to reserve last I checked but that may have changed.

Yeah, I've contacted every dealer in the area and almost all the incoming models are AT. The very few manuals is going to a wait-list that's between 6-9 months.

Good news. Available at the dealership which I bought mine for at MSRP.

This is optioned exceptionally well in my opinion. Would be better without the GR Exhaust but if it's within your budget, you may be interested in this.

Sadly, it also appears Neptune is a discontinued color, no longer available in the online build your own options for 2023..

So if you want a Neptune, you'll have to find one on a lot, or buy preowned it appears. May need to be willing to travel..

Quick Search doesn't turn up much..

Not great in my opinion, but Fitzgerald Gaithersburg forced a $695 service package. The salesperson said something about the service package includes a $35 voucher for service/parts that is given out every 3 months for lifetime of the vehicle. I don't recall what else the service package included.

Other than the service package, they said that there wasn't any dealer markup.

This was back in February, so I'm not sure if anything has changed since then.
