Check Engine Light After Replacing Flat Tire

2015 BRZ - I got a flat tire on my left rear, threw on the spare and of course the Traction, ABS, and Check Engine lights were all on. Limped to the tire shop and replaced all 4 tires with new ones. Traction and ABS lights cleared a few yards after leaving the shop but the Check Engine light is still on. The engine seems to be running normally. Is this something I can clear myself or do I need to take it some place?

Thanks!

If we don't know what it's for, we can't tell you. Go to an automotive shop and ask them to read the code. It's likely benign; can be cleared and forgotten

Codes. Always start with codes. The check engine light alone can be any one of about 170 error codes.

Free: auto parts store OBD scan
Cheap: amazon OBD code scanner (DIY)
Not as cheap: local mechanic shop OBD scan
Not cheap a tall: dealer OBD scan

Thanks everyone, the code is a P2158 Speed Sensor B.

** Edit: The check engine light only came on after putting the spare on. I had to drive a little on the flat to get off the highway and that didn't trigger the light. So I'm wondering if this should eventually clear on its own, or if it needs to be cleared manually, or if the actual sensor is damaged.

Try disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds. Or buy a code reader. I have an older Subaru (in addition to my FRS) so having a code reader is mandatory.

I've got a code reader now, so it's safe enough to try erasing it and seeing if it comes back?

Clear it and be done. Also read the manual, you never put the spare on the rear of a BRZ.

Oh yes, just erase the code and see if it comes back.

Cleared the code, engine seemed underpowered for a few miles but then went back to normal. No bode in about 100 miles. Thanks for the help everyone.
