Wheel Spacers/Lugs Question

I'm considering some mild (10mm-ish) hub centric spacers for my Gen2 GR86.

I'm aware these cars have a reputation for the wheel lugs being made from soft cheese so there's non-zero cause to just change them out while I'm doing that anyway, but I'm not entirely convinced I want to do that right now.

So the question is: How thick can you go on wheel spacers before you need longer lugs?

Follow up question: if I want/need to replace the lugs, what's the best way to be sure I'm getting good ones and not some crappy knock-off alloy that's going to shear off under load?

I believe 3 or 5 mm is the max you can do with stock studs.

ARP are the go-to. Most other brands might be as good but they're not cheap enough to warrant not going with ARP, IMO.

Highly recommend buying H&R Hubcentric spacers, since they actually come with extended lug studs to accommodate for the additional spacing. Takes all of the guess work out of finding studs that have enough length.

I have 15mm H&R Hubcentric spacers on my BRZ (to help make my 17x7.5 +48 Gram Lights 57Cs not look so wimpy), and they came with lug studs that were exactly 15mm longer than the stock studs, so you get the same lug engagement as factory.

Looks like they're only sold at brick-and-mortar distributors, and nothing within 300 miles of where I live.

Do they just not sell online at all?

In the US, EvasiveMotorsports carries them online.

The filters in this link should be pre-set for our car:

I did Eibach spacers with extended studs, worked great.

3mm is the max I'd go with stock wheels (and aftermarket wheels may be worse), bone stock there's only a tiny safety margin of lug engagement as it is.

3-5mm for slip on spacers is the max on stock lugs

Bolt on spacers are essentially unlimited
