2024 Full Toyota Supra?

I am unsure if this topic has been previously discussed on this platform, as my search did not yield any results. However, I received information from a reliable source about Toyota Supra pros and cons that the head of Toyota North America announced during a recent meeting in Mexico that the 2024 and 2025 Supras will be entirely produced by Toyota. According to my source, Toyota expressed dissatisfaction with their partnership and the engines, and as a result, they intend to terminate the partnership after the 2023 models.
I would like to know if anyone else can verify the accuracy of this information.

Verified.

The only people who can verify this are the people who can verify it.

I can confirm that this is pending confirmation.

Just need to stretch out the model year a little bit to better fit a full generation of production (so 2026/2027 makes the most sense) and it'll be a bit more believable.

But beyond "there is a possibility the Supra will have a next generation" most of the other filler information sounds like friend of a friend of a friend telephone BS.

probably needs 2 factor authentication, and the first factor needed a password reset. So it cannot be verified right away.

a wild one at that.

the whole point of Toyota doing this via BMW is that they offloaded the production to a 3rd party manufacturer who also is building the Z4, among others.

to just say "we are going to slap in a motor" reeks of a lack of understanding how the complexities of OEM manufacturing..

Get outta here with your "facts" and "logic". This is the Internet! Next you're gonna say the new Supra can't cost $10,000, lap the 'Ring in under 6 minutes and run 1000 miles on a 5 minute charge.

Lol you guys joke about this, but I was talking to my neighbor who has a Supra and he actually confirmed it to be true.

Lantanafrs2 05-07-2023 03:45 PM

4000 lb sportscar. Fantastic. Gonna get booster number 5 and crawl back into the artificial womb.

wbradley 05-07-2023 10:25 PM

Saw a Kirk Kreifels video in which he displayed a Best Car magazine with Google translate and they claim the 3.0 L turbo will remain probably as some form of hybrid and the next gen body style will also be made as a plug-in electric. I wasn't so excited at the drawing provided, it looks kinda dull compared to the current model.

Does your source know the entire car is a reskinned Z4? I don't think BMW will be happy another mfg is producing their car less the engine. The B58 is also super solid.

bcj 05-08-2023 01:27 PM

Magna-Steyr make all the Z4s. Also the M5. They build for Mercedes, Jaguar and Fisker too.
Kind of a backwoods Dr. Frankenstein people bring their dead relatives to.
