EcuTEK DesKey Replacement
 
Hello all. So recently my DESkey usb drive stopped working. It is no longer being recognized by Windows. I have tested this on multiple PC's, and it seems the drive itself has most likely gotten damaged somehow over the years of use.


I have seen multiple sites offering replacement DESkeys for around $150 or so. If I cannot manually fix this one myself (I plan to at least try and re-solder or something) then I will buy a replacement. My question is, can I simply buy a replacement key and it will work plug & play? Or will it require some sort of license transfer/unlock or something. Thanks!

Shot them an e-mail. Suppose that's probably the smart thing to do before cracking the usb open and trying to fix it :bonk:

New key will work after you reinstall ecutek , new key will have new I'd , so you will need to get any tunes re-keyed by tuner unless they were unlock which is unlikely
