In the grand scheme of things, the sphericals on the LCA's are not really a big deal as far as NVH. I didn't really notice them when my car is more stock and I think the subframe bushings do a good job absorbing a lot of the NVH aftermarket suspension components generate. I saw in your other thread you are going to the whiteline subframe inserts, which may cause them to generate more NVH, I dunno for sure. I am on solid subframe bushings along with a bunch of other parts so "NVH" may as well be my car's middle name.

Me too. I ordered a set of these. I think I have someone already on the line to take the (literally) unused set of the KTA216a's.

I always thought “pillow ball” was literally a ball sitting on pillows. I mean, how much more comfortable can it get than that! Learned that the pillows are a lie.

Threads are 16x1.5m, kind of an oddball. Threaded shank is 61mm long and bore center to end of shanks is approx 90mm. Bore is for 12mm bolt and is just under 43mm thick. Mostly posting this for my own posterity when I try to find a spherical that will fit.

I got these in the other day and partially installed them on the car. I intentionally mounted the subframe side and just hit them with my impact like someone who doesn't know any better to see if the joint would bind and it doesn't. Doesn't rotate smoothly like a spherical, but isn't bound and moves properly.


Another side note, these are like twice as heavy as the RacerX arms they are replacing.

I installed mine last night. I'm one of the dumba$$es that hit it with my impact but it's the baby Dewalt impact so it's not super strong. They don't bind in my case. You're correct that they are heavy and, compared to the KTA216A, they are considerably heavier. It's sprung weight so it doesn't matter, right? :D

Side note; those are my "storage and offseason" tires. I do track the car but if those babies are still good they are kept warm inside the house in the offseason.
