Stability control issue. HELP!
Hi, so I have a 2013 scion FRS I track. In October I wrecked it and I got it back driving recently, but theres a problem with the stability control. When I take some corners at speeds I did before the accident (the car is planted not sliding out or even close to) the stability control will activate sporadically and make the car becomes unstable. My buddy in a mechanics trade program say it might be a yaw sensor, but I can't find anything about that anywhere. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
(Edit) also it only really happens when doing sharper turns, so could it be a steering position sensor? I just don't wanna drop a ton of money on something that may not be the problem. |
Both the Yaw sensor (internal to the ABS/ESC control unit) and the steering angle sensor can be re-initialized with a scan tool that has OEM-level access.
If there are no diagnostic trouble codes, that's an easy first step. |

What's far more likely is that your alignment is different from before the crash. Do you have a printout of the current alignment? Or from before the crash for that matter? |
Re-calibrate the steering angle sensor!
