Rear OEM shock direction.
1 Attachment(s)
Does the rear shock have a specific direction it should go in? The bottom part that connects to the LCA doesn’t swivel and I want to make sure I didn’t install it backwards. TIA
|
It swivels, you just got to over come the tension of the spring. Use a screw driver in the bottom hole to give you some leverage.
Spin it so the butt end of the spring hits that notch on the lower perch. |
So it doesn’t matter directionally? Like it doesn’t need to be turned 180 degrees?
|
It doesn't matter. If it did the rears would be 2 different part numbers like the fronts. Mine had the sticker facing out like you have it.

Rad, thanks!!!!

The correct orientation of the top hats will ensure the bottom mount lines up propery with the lower control arm, forcing, or twisting it to fit is not advisable and will likely result in binding and noises. See attachment.

So according to the pdf Opie provided, I gave you incorrect info. Looks like the assembly should be oriented so the lower butt end of the spring is facing outward. (sticker inward))
For what it's worth, mine were installed exactly how you have it by a "reputable" shop 7 years ago and have been that way ever since with no issues. |
Mine had labels on the outside as stock.
