Working on some vents for those looking to increase the size of existing vents to something more geared towards a track day car. I was in this boat as well. I don’t have CFD data or wind tunnel test results to back up any claims of increased cooling at this point. Would like to do some A to B track comparisons though. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...da8fa9826d.jpg

It has been a little slower than anticipated on the manufacturing side but they are coming along. I currently have 20 sets at powder coat I'm waiting to get back. Then they will be available!

Just posted this in my Journal. See details there.
I have yet to have a heat issue, but I haven't done a really hot day at the track either. I do have the long tube Nameless headers and want to get some of their added heat out.

BTW, that's just my "street splitter" and street gargoyle that's on the car.

The club I track with in Ireland run an open pit lane format. I think the max amount of track time one could have is like 6 hours haha.

So I have stuck to just doing a handful of laps then coming in to let things cool down. I am hoping this saves me from the need to update coils and major cooling updates.

I will be switching my coils and harness if my method doesn't work lol

Form first function second. Great looking hood, but you'll get way more cooling surface area with some drop-in vents, placed properly.

Their other design looks more functional. But, as has already been said, a set of properly placed vents will still probably work better and be significantly cheaper.

wondering why you say that. Looks like iut would have some good negative pressure running over it. Obviously, a lip would help a bit and give you a tiny bit of (much needed) front downforce. Better or worse, I think it would be in the noise. When it's moving, you really shouldn't need much. When it's stationary, the only thing that really matters is the surface area of the holes, which also have a point of diminishing returns. For popping coil packs, they're all probably in the wrong spot. You'd want them over the center of the engine and at the highest point. It's obviously a lot more expensive than a vent though.

I actually like it a lot. It matches my viper hood vents :D

I have good luck with wrapping the coil in gold foil tape. verus hood vents for a street car or track spec Hood vents for a dedicated track car

Even with a big pressure differential at speed, you can only push so much air through those 2 small holes, vs a much larger vent.

To visualize, compare the surface area of the inlet (front bumper opening), to the outlet.

To put this in perspective, the outlet is MUCH larger for the aux radiators, than inlets, on most German cars.

By increasing area appropriately, you're reducing pressure differential, because you're simply flowing more. High pressure through a coffee stirer, vs low pressure through a Mcdonalds straw. Which flows more?

sure, I get cross section, but those don't look like they're much less than my vents. Or I'm just misremembering my vents.
