2017 Engine in 2016 BRZ

Backstory, Bought a 2016 BRZ in Mississippi while I was stationed there on my way back home to Washington the engine blew in California. Bearings were spun etc and had to replace the engine. Ended up finding a 2017 engine for 5k with less than 20k miles from a wrecked 2017 GT86. I imagined the swap wouldn't be insanely complex, and getting the engine in the car was not the hard part. I wasn't wrong. It went to shit when the car didn't start, and figured out that it was the immobilizer. More research on here told me it was a hard swap and required more work than intended. Returning or getting a 2016 engine is not an option like some people on other threads have recommended. This is the only engine I have, and I need to make it work. I have seen very few threads on here that don't beat around the bush about what needs to happen to get this engine running and driving once again. I know quite a bit of sensor's and some plates need to be swapped over, and from what I understand need to put the 2016 ECU back in there and get it tuned to make the 2017 engine run right but keep the 2016 engine electronics such as gauge and security system so if someone could shed any light on what I need to do to get the car running and driving. What parts, a tune or flash, what electrical. I'm not worried about putting time, effort, or money into this car. I just need help understanding what exactly needs to happen as far as this engine swap goes.
Thank you for your time in advance!
