Picture of stock clutch spring?
Does anyone have a picture of the stock clutch spring? I'm technically the 2nd owner of my '22 BRZ (first owner owned it briefly and hardly drove it). I bought the M tech clutch spring but when I went to install it, they look so similar that I wonder if he had already done the mod...which would explain why I never felt the clutch feel was *that* bad

Should be silver and shiny (edit, though some reports of newer build cars coming with black springs)
Easy test: try to squeeze the spring in between your index and thumb finger. If it squishes quite easily, you have MTEC. If it barely budges with as much force as you can muster, it's stock. |

Thanks all! Looks like the previous owner did the mtech. So I have a brand new M tech spring to sell

I'm curious if you decided to swap it out under 1200miles on the car? The first 1000miles on mine I was looking at the clutch springs then after the break in miles the clutch is smooth as butter and became less temperamental dead consistent in my opinion to not justifying a clutch spring change.
Depending what you have drove before can also determine doing this also I think people are way too impulsive on changing parts and or not taking the time and being acclimated to the vehicle properly with some miles. |
I think the spring is the same for all GR86/BRZ. Please visit this link: https://www.gr-zoo.com/threads/gr86-...e-2#post-53420
Bye for now Fred |
My stock spring is black. New car, picked up the end of January.
