Nice sounding exhaust without being to loud and drone
Rn I have Gruppe-S UEL header and overpipe with a highflow cat and big resonator front pipe and Invidia N2. I had to put the big resonator in the front pipe to get it more drive able because of how loud and how much drone. I do a lot longer drives now and the current setup can still be annoying. Ive been looking to get a different catback and probably change out the front pipe to a dual resonated because I scrape the big one at times. Im looking for a exhaust that still sounds good and deep, but isn’t to loud and drones. Some exhaust I like are CSGxMXP Touring but not hearing it in person worries me if it will be to quiet. MXP SP but not sure where its at on list maybe to loud idk. HKS Legamax sports S Tail but same as SP not sure on where its at on the list. I think I would really love the ARK GRIP but its just expensive lol. Maybe the AWE Touring but heard it on the 1st gen. Anybody able to help rank on loudness, drone, and quality? Thanks!

Aftermarket front pipes are where most of the cabin noise comes from, short of straight piping, or combining with loud catbacks like the n2. I run an Ace 350 header, stock front pipe, and the CSG MXP Touring 86 catback. Very reasonable cruising levels as you can have a conversation at normal levels on the highway. There is no drone, and comes alive when you put your foot down.

Is their a good aftermarket option thats not as restrictive and still is not a loud in the cabin? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't have any personal experience with the jdl dual resonated front pipe/overpipe, but i have heard people say its the most tame non catted. The catted version is known for having the cats dissolve due to the quality of the cat. |

When I ran that header I tried a few quiet exhausts like the greddy SP and Fujistubo axleback. Both droned worse with a Catted and bottle resonated Aftermarket front pipe compared to stock.
Stock front pipe droned less but still droned which was unacceptable for me. I briefly tried a HKS dual resonated on the stock CB but ditched it due to catless smells. My windows needed to be all the way down or up, any variance would suck fumes into the cabin. CSG touring is the only CB I would buy going forward, every other CB is a gamble with different headers and front pipes. |

Any sound clips? I have a similar setup currently with grupple-s headers, high flow catted front pipe, and greddy sp axleback. It's pretty loud and I'm hoping that swapping the CB would quiet it down a bit. |

Gruppe-s, HF Catted resonated FP, fujistubo axleback https://youtu.be/0nPCapR6N6c Gruppe-s, stock FP, greddy SP https://youtu.be/ubI959qQ_Ww Gruppe-s, Stock CB, HKS dual resonated vs Catted resonated FP https://youtu.be/TK4-8rJ1iUE |
Anybody running a JDL Ultra quiet or another High flow catted front pipe with UEL and CSG Touring? Not stock front pipe. Wanting to hear it cause this is the setup Im thinking about.

Thanks! Would you happen to have any sound clips with the CSG exhaust with grupple headers? |

Ended up selling the gruppe-s and swapped to a JDL 4-2-1 el. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9s7...b_channel=Ryan Was hoping you could follow up with how it sounded overall, because I wasn't able to find any follow-up video that you alluded to in the description. I have a PLM catless header and fully stock exhaust otherwise. Have an FT86MS front pipe on the way with the intentions of getting it to sound similar to this, though I still don't have much insight on how it sounds cruising and under load. |

Third video from post earlier I have a clip with a HKS catless dual resonated vs FT86MS Catted and resonated with the stock CB. Dual resonated had higher pitch and adds a little rasp mostly as low RPM. I liked the sound in cabin, especially with the rear seats down when you want a little extra noise. Catted and resonated is a little deeper sounding than stock. Only had that setup about a month before switching headers. Doesn't give you much but this clip I have HKS FP installed. If you can deal with the catless smell I liked this setup most for stock CB. https://youtu.be/bkwL4-2B0NE |

Did you find any notable difference between the 13-16 and 17-21 catbacks? Most of the videos I've found of similar setups to mine would suggest the 17-21 is louder (which is why I went without a res/cat) but I have nothing to verify that. |

JDL 4-2-1, stock everything else (OP, FP, Catback). TBH the stock exhaust does sound solid when paired up with a header. Has good volume outside of the car, basically sounds stock inside the car. If you do like a bit of a deeper tone that's where you lose out with the stock catback. However, it's all a balance. The deep tone sounds good, but it drones! I had the Invidia R400 on my car for many years and loved the way it sounded in almost every driving situation, save for the 75-80mph highway sweet spot where it droned like hell. I could manage ok then, but for the last few years, not so much. My driving is almost 100% highway these days, and I'm 6 years older than I was when I got it so I seem to get headaches easier now lol. The drone when combined with the header became too much for me - I sold the R400 in the fall and put the stock catback back on. If anything, I may pick up the Fujitsubo Authorise S (or another mild axleback, can't seem to find much for the 17+ though) to re introduce a bit of tone, but I can't quite justify it yet. |

I’m on the exact same boat. I love how quiet and drone free it is with the JDL 4 2 1 with the rest stock, but it’s hard to hear the car when you have a helmet on or if you are doing any high speed driving with the windows down. I genuinely considered r400 after seeing your videos but decided against it in case it was too loud (plus it seemed like it droned). |
