Leak under left rear of car
 

Hey guys

Hoping anyone can help me oit. I’ve discovered a leak on the back left of my car. Just before the wheel. I can’t determine if it’s fuel or oil? Any ideas what it could be or the cause of it.

What does it smell like? The difference between fuel and oil should be readily identifiable. Hard to tell what it is from the picture but from the fact it has dried and left a boundary line I would lean toward fuel.

Well fuel and oil smell add feel a lot different so what does it smell like. In that location I would say 100% gas. Take the back left seat out. There is a cover plate sealed down, remove it and look at the Fuel Pump/float/filter access panel. Does it only leak when fuel tank topped off? Anyone replace the fuel pump recently?

Obvious question:

Any modifications made to the car?

I bet the answer is. I had a Friend change out the fuel pump for a 6 pack of beer last week.

I'll go with a brake fluid leak.
