How much do you think I call sell my 2023 for?

Hey gang,

Debating selling my essentially brand new 2023. Curious what people would be willing to pay for it. Car is great, I sold my daily driver sedan for it but I'm thinking I might need to go back to the sedan/CUV world for the daily so am considering selling it. I already have a Miata as my little race car and thought maybe I could get by with two smallish cars but I'm kind of missing the utility of the other car.... I might keep it if it's a bad decision to sell but thought maybe I could get my money back out, or at least most of it if I wanted... thoughts?

2023 BRZ Limited, world rally blue, 6MT
400ish miles
Port installed options: all weather floor liners (includes regular mats too), all weather trunk liner, STI short shift kit, Homelink mirror
Has 35% IR reducing tint installed on all windows other than windshield
Has Suntek PPF installed on whole front (bumper, fenders, hood, headlights, and side mirrors)
Has Viofo 4K front dash cam with 1080P rear dash cam installed as well
Can also include new Blizzak winter tires on separate set of white wheels with TPMS sensors cloned from original wheels... original wheels and tires have 20 miles on them.

Thoughts?

Sell Miata, keep BRZ, it’s more practical. Get beater CUV.

Miata is the full time autocross/weekend car with the mods to match so it’s definitely staying… BRZ is brand new so it’s the one to sell, if either.

5k under MSRP. Stop perpetuating inflation

AK2112 01-06-2023 10:09 PM

$33k

It's a bit sad to see both at the same time:
- people who can't buy these cars due to availability/markups (more so GR86 than BRZ)
- people who buy these cars and decide they don't need them

I get it: some cars are not what they looked like in the magazines; and "life happens".
But overall, still sad.

Yeah… I’ll probably end up keeping it because I do like the car… I’m just second guessing having the BRZ and the Miata… I think my previous setup made more sense. If I could sell it for MSRP and just be out the tax I might do it but it’s not worth losing more than that…. So I’ll likely be good with my two cars that tend to get compared to each other haha

Not answering your question but I also have a BRZ and NA Miata and can throw out an alternative option that works great for me - beater truck as the 3rd vehicle for when you need utility.

As for what the market will bear when you try to sell - do some digging around on autotrader, cars, etc and see what the market is bearing right now.

31k… the dash cam, ppf and other accessories you essentially lit your money on fire.

Unless somebody wants those exact extra options you added or needs the car now syndrome they will probably just order a new one and wait.

Ernest72 01-07-2023 06:55 PM

Keep it. You will miss it. Most do.

I suspect that you could get at least MSRP fairly easily given the low miles and the mods you've added. I wouldn't wait for too long, since the conditions that led to inflated auto prices are beginning to reverse.

Yeah, I'll likely just remove the dash cam and return it. Hoping PPF and tint are at least more of a common add-on that people might find some value in, versus say random performance or cosmetic mods. Getting some local interest at $36k so we'll see if I end up keeping it or selling it.

I do like it, but honestly I think the Miata is a better "fun" car, and the issue I'm having is the BRZ doesn't add enough utility over the Miata to justify it as a second car to the Miata. Obviously I should have determined this ahead of time but both are fun to drive so I got the BRZ too. The thing I find myself thinking with the BRZ is "If I'm going to be driving a small car as my daily driver I'd rather be in the Miata, or if I'm reserving the Miata for racing and good weather I'd rather be in something more powerful like a C8 Corvette as the daily driver if I'm going to have a small car for the daily"... but maybe it will grow on me and I'll just keep the BRZ as the daily.

Well if a C8 is a possibility for your budget, sell BRZ for sure and get C8.

I’ll likely keep it because when I think about the C8 it’s a whole other rabbit hole of “well, I should just sell the BRZ and the Miata and use the C8 for everything”…. Always something 😂

soundman98 01-08-2023 08:22 PM

brz is more practical than the c8. miata will make a c8 look like an overweight tail-heavy pig.

i dunno, i feel like a c8, despite having more power, is going to be worse at everything you've indicated you'd use the car for, practicality, or cone-racing...

True. The best setup would probably be to just have the BRZ to use as the daily and as an autocross car. That was actually my original plan back in May when I ordered the BRZ, but in the meantime I decided to get the Miata for autocross and now am pretty dedicated to using it for autocross as I like having a convertible. I think part of the issue is I came from having a sub 4 second 0-60 car with more space as the daily driver, and even though I do value the handling just as much I’m not really using the BRZ’s awesome handling the way I would be if it was my autocross car. I’ll likely keep it for now though as it does have enough room for things like groceries and such compared to the toy car Miata and the BRZ is fairly uncommon to see compared to many other alternatives for a daily.

eyeballs 01-09-2023 01:06 AM

If the miata is your "race" car and you enjoy driving it on the street, then you can go WAY more "race" with it (or even exocet it) and keep the BRZ for the street car. Sure it's not very practical compared to something with more utility, but what would you rather drive EVERY day?

Casually jumping into cars that cost over twice as much? Keep going then, sell BRZ for 911 GT3.

You are onto something, but no need to go GT3 with big money. Get a used Cayman, if it’s just street get the base, if you are tracking get the S. If you must have the back seat get a Carrera S. Both cars are fairly practical.

Cayman has definitely been on the radar... GT3 not so much :)

Have you sold it? I am interested in buying it and that is why I am searching for it online. I am glad I found your post. I can pay for it as you want. I have earned a lot of money by playing online real money games. I found a site where I found best skycrown casino review Canada and it helped me in finding those sites through which I can earn a lot of money.

Keep it and rent a car/truck/van when you need one.

Count up the number of times you have NEEDED a larger vehicle in the past 2-3 years.

If you are growing your family that’s another matter. Get a fast station wagon.

Extra bonus points if you get an old Olds Vista Cruiser and drop a supercharge engine in it and upgrade the supporting go fast parts

I'll tell people this all time. Especially if it's a Home Depot/Lowe's trip. At least around here, you can rent one of their trucks cheap.

Drive your car there, rent a truck get your stuff and take it home and drop it off, drive back to big box store, drive your car from.

Profit.

I'd take $27k (USD) for my 2022 BRZ with 4000 miles on it if I were to sell it. But then again that's a lot of $$ for us Canadians

soundman98 01-27-2023 09:59 PM

a lot cheaper than my 2014!

my brz is available for $500,000, as-optioned, wrappers on passenger floor mat included.

That's what I did when I got my C8 - I kept my BRZ as my daily driver.
