Adjusting boot hinges for boot alignment
 

I’ve recently installed an aftermarket boot lid but the alignment is not the best and I was looking to loosen the nuts that connect the hinges to line the lid up better. However the they seem to be on extremely tight and I was just wondering if I should just turn with a bit more strength or am I removing them incorrectly. Any help would be much appreciated thx!
