Camber difference question

Hey guys

I am lowered on RCE Yellows and got an alignment without LCAs.

They fixed my toe and camber was not adjustable, so they sent me on my way.

My rear left camber is -1.8 and my rear right camber is -2.7

Do you guys think with those numbers it's necessary to correct? a 33% difference seems like a lot. This is just a daily driven street car.

Stock rear alignment is wonky like that. No real way to correct it without using aftermarket parts to allow camber adjustment. Ideally, I like to see my left/right settings within 0.2* of each other at the most.

There's an alignment shop that I go to regularly that is used to doing "motorsports alignments" and they were willing to use a pry bar to get the numbers closer together before tightening things down.

Track use, I'd wanna bump the rear left camber up (more negative). Street-only? I wouldn't worry about it...

That difference would bother me. Just unlucky, my car was spot on from the factory.

The rear subframe can be shifted (an opportunity to install some of the rear insert bushings and/or those STI long subframe bolts) but that can be tricky without a skilled technician.

The SPC rear LCAs would do the trick for cheap.

Will the Spoon collar will fix this issue?

No, all of the arms are attached to the subframe.

gpvecchi 12-02-2022 01:55 AM

Sure, but the shocks are attached to the chassis.

They don't define the rear camber.

I've seen those sti bolts somewhere. Why would anyone need longer subframe bolts? Just to add braces?

They are meant to be used with the STi front lower subframe stoppers. But obviously there have been tons of people who have done other subframe inserts without extended bolts so I doubt it's a super necessary thing.

All I know is an STi engineer looked at the Subaru engineered bolt and said "not good enough" and that was enough to take my money lol.

Highlighted blue part is the stopper, and you can see the bolts are different front to rear. This is a JDM 2015 TS diagram I believe.

The Whiteline bolts would get even probably around -2.3. Adjustable LCA are the fix.
