Pedders Extreme Xa Supercar Coil-Over Kit ?

Who's using these, what's your experience with them, what do they compare to?

I want to upgrade from my Tein Flex As in the near future and go with a set of 2-ways. I like that these come with remote canisters, but I can't really find any testimonials or people referencing using them.

I'm running 18×9.5 on 265/35 front, 18×11 on 285/35 rear. The Flex As feel too taxed by the extra weight, would these Pedders be equal to task?

What are your goals for the car?
What kind of tires are you running?
How/why did you choose such wide wheels?

(Most to least from left to right)
Touge, hillclimb, track meets, auto-x.
Very little casual driving but some.

Currently some 500 treadwear all-season tires, but my plan is to buy some Ventus R-S4s early spring.

The how is a Rocket Bunny V1 kit, the why is a mix of wanting a larger contact patch for obvious reasons and aesthetics. Originally I had planned on doing a LS swap with 400hp+, but ended up going with a more conservative SC kit and around 300hp.

Still too wide IMO with 300 hp, but you can make it work.

I don't have experience with the Pedders kit. I would not use the 10 kg/mm front and 8 kg/mm rear spring rates for your car/tire set up. I'd maybe swap them if the lengths are right and the valving supports that.

I'd give them a call, see what kind of support and tech info they can provide. That kind of thing is super important with a more complicated damper like a 2 way.

What type of spring rates would you suggest for this type of setup?

As is with the Flex As I'm reduced to going full stiff in the rear when doing spirited driving. Even just 2 clicks from full stiff the rear wants to rotate significantly more, and that's with -2.7° camber.

"full stiff in rear" reduces grip, as due less compliant suspension on that end, tire gets overloaded quicker, loosing grip by that. no wonder it "wants rotate more".

though who knows, maybe you need that, to counter extra understeer induced by choosing staggered wheel/tires choice, when normally twins suspension is built expecting square tire sizing.

I thought it was odd as well but that's what's going on. Next time I take it out I plan to soften up the front and see how it reacts.

my guess is that at very extremes of adjustment clicks there might be some oddities. otherwise i don't see why it should work so "other way". how about trying softening more then mentioned two clicks, like to mid of range?

I'm going to continue to play around with it for sure but ultimately I do want to go with a two-way setup whether I can dial in this current system or not. Hopefully I will be able to find a better sweet spot for no other reason than the commute to the mountain passes. Full stiff front and rear actually feels good when you're in the passes, but is extremely bouncy on interstate.

I am still running stock sway bars front and rear. My assumption being running the stock rear sway bar would help me take advantage of my negative camber and larger contact patch. I'm now reconsidering and plan to go with an adjustable set up.
