Brz silver vs frs silver

I saw a silver frs at the dealership and it had a very cheap quality paint. It was very off silver with blue-ish tint to it. And then i saw a silver brz, for some reason the color was much darker compared to frs...
Maybe it was the light, are they the same factory paint?

both made and painted by subaru. i think you may have had a placebo effect because of the branding.

From what I know it is the same paint. It was probably the light and your affinity for Subaru. :party0030:

Same paint. Same color codes and everything.

See an optometrist.

Remove the Elton John blue sunglasses when viewing both vehicles. Try the Bono red ones.

Also keep in mind that some of these paints, the white, silver, and even hot lava, which all have what is called specular reflective properties, will appear to mimic the colors around them. Hot Lava, for example, will vary between almost yellow in the sun to almost brown in the shade (illuminated by blue skylight only).

When examining these cars, see what's behind you, over you, around you, and sort of mentally subtract those colors.

Did that FRS happen to be sitting near a blue car by any chance?

Quite possibly It was reflecting the sky
Here is the picture of what i saw and from the picture it clearly shows the rear bumper has blue-ish tone to it

While parked next to a whiteout FR-S the silver looks very light and almost white...when next to a Black Spec-V the color looked much darker, almost grey...so agree with above statements...Silver is a color carmeleon, but they are the same.

The BRZ has the same

Subaru always had very "cheap" paint quality

I thought the same thing...wondered if it was my surroundings or if the paint process was different. Sure the paint's color code might be the same but could they be using different primer or drying process? I'm not sure how identical the assembly lines and equipment are set-up.
