Gorgeous set up just how i want on mine!!

kimchangil424 03-31-2013 08:11 AM

Thanks guys. I know deciding on a set with specs is hard to decide on unless you see actual pics. Hopefully this helps for people who are deciding on getting some wheels.

stanm 03-31-2013 05:03 PM

Thanks for posting that up.
I have the 18" wheels in the same spec and have trouble deciding on tire sizing!

MidnightRunner 03-31-2013 05:18 PM

:coolpics:

Great post for those such as myself stuck between sticking with 17's or going 18's. And enkei rpf01's are timeless! Good choice

kimchangil424 04-01-2013 12:16 AM

I totally understand where you're coming from. It took me a while to figure out what to get myself because I had to see them in person before I jumped on the wheels. Can't go wrong with lightweight cheap track wheels like the RPF1.

yohan04 04-01-2013 12:16 PM

LOL so you sold your RPF1's just to get another RPF1's.

kimchangil424 04-01-2013 06:11 PM

Yeah. I sold the 18x9.5 RPF1 and got the 17s for track use. How are you liking the 18s?

D1cker 04-01-2013 06:17 PM

Looks good, I think I saw you at SOW yesterday? I had the silver FRS with the same wheels/tires

kimchangil424 04-01-2013 06:40 PM

Yeah. I was at streets of willow yesterday but left early before my 3rd runs started. Your car looks clean in silver. I'm glad you test fitted those wheels early on because that influenced my decision.

Enkei RPF1 SBCs 17x9 +35

5 Attachment(s)
Put these on today! Tires are Yokohama S Drives 235/40R17

and yes... this is stock suspension, I need "moar low" LoL

Khyron686 04-02-2013 12:51 AM

Hrm looking at same tire size on 8 inch 17s, hoping not to lower. It's not too bad except that first pic sure makes the wheel wells look huge. Maybe the guys picking a slightly bigger tire are on to something :P

I need to drop it, just bought the car... originally bought the SBCs for an SRT-4 I had but this car had the same lug pattern so I decided to throw em on. Can't wait to see how it looks dropped because the wheel gap is hidious LoL

Nhil 04-02-2013 01:00 PM

Wow, looks great. Where did you buy the wheels from?

17x9 35mm RPF1 with stock suspension?

Looking to get the same 17x9 35mm RPF1 rims with 245/40/17 tires. Does anyone know if this will fit with the stock suspension and camber?

KpAtch3s 04-21-2013 02:23 PM

I was thinking about going with the same wheel set up and tires. Trying to see if I can get in a group buy at the moment. I'm curious though if the wheels leave enough room for larger brakes since I plan to turbo the car in the next year.

That setup looks really nice. wish i had the money to get a set.

Are those Muteki lug nuts? And do you or anyone know how good the locking lugs are?

JimmyMac 05-19-2013 03:06 AM

Very nice. I'm contemplating on a very similar setup on my firestorm. What size tires are those? 235?

awesome, exactly how i want mine to look. how are you liking the eibach kit?

GTB/ZR-1 05-19-2013 02:10 PM

Looks great!

jeebus 05-19-2013 02:40 PM

that looks awesome. Nice job. I take it you wanted the taller tire to eek out a bit more MPH in each gear?

The springs are okay, haven't had any issues with them yet. Ill be getting coils eventually. I've done drift events and track days and they performed great.

Didn't really have that in the back of my mind when I made the tire choice, more cause its the stock height. Didnt want a more bumpy ride also.

235/45 isn't the stock height. It's a .7" taller tire than the stock 215/45. 245/40 is actually the closest to stock height, with 235/40 not too far behind.

Just FYI

RehabJeff86 05-19-2013 11:03 PM

looks awesome!!

xwd 05-19-2013 11:34 PM

Looks great I have some coming eventually. I would have gone with a 245/40 tire myself.

Word thanks. Yeah I never did hard research on it, just liked the size :). I did notice it sits slightly higher though once installed, which I was glad since its real low to begin with.

The +45 will hit the tie rod ends on full lock if the car is lowered 20mm. Or even just under compression and full lock.

Looking foreward to pix. Shots of the front spring clearance would be nice too.
