wear your seatbelt...
woke up to this news story this morning... terrible way to go.

I wholeheartedly agree with you in regards to seat belt usage, but there is no indication that the driver was not wearing one. It is entirely possible she had her belt on but was thrown during the roll and ensuing impact(s).

Even in a rollover a seatbelt prevents ejection most of the time. If she shot out across the median into the other lane, I guarantee you she wasn't wearing one. It's just not worth the risk imo and they are a lot more comfortable than they were 20 years ago. I had a pretty nasty accident in 2004 and I walked away with just some bruises and a broken thumb (thanks to my ninja grip on the steering wheel... I actually bent it, lol).

Sad story and a terrible way to go. Yes wear your seatbelt, not worth risking your life because you don't think it looks "cool."
|
Yeeee.. I never liked it when people came in my car and didn't wear a seatbelt. One of the very few times I agree with California State Law. Lol
|
Wow that's awful. Always buckle up.
|
I always wear my seat belt & whoever is in my car, I always make em wear it no matter what.
Safety comes first! |
Dont you guys & gals have to wear a seat belt?? Its law here & you can even get fined for not wearing one.
|
It's law here as well. The problem with laws is that there's always some idiot that thinks they're either:
1) above the law 2) the law is stupid (in certain circumstances, the law really is stupid. Like not being able to buy beer on sunday) 3) think they won't ever get caught 4) Don't follow the law because they haven't followed it in the past with no repercussions 5) all of the above |
WHAT!No beer on Sunday pfffft :confused0068:
lol |

It's just an automatic habit for me. |

Same here, but then again I live in a nanny state cant do much without getting a fine, like 3kmh over the speed limit & you'll get a fine :mad0259: |
I think seat belt laws vary by state in the US, but in NJ passengers behind the first row that are older than 17 aren't required to wear one. I still make my passengers behind me buckle up anyways.
|
There are some states in the U.S that don't require people to wear a seatbelt... or a helmet... -_-!
*cough Arizona* lol |
