For sale - Crawford 10.5:1 FA20 Shortblock

I'm selling the Crawford shortblock I had in my turbocharged FRS for the past ~15k miles or so.

The serial number is pictured in the attachments and can be verified with Crawford if anyone would like to pre-purchase. The specs are JE 10.5:1 pistons with Pauter X beam billet rods.

The four cylinders are in great shape with the crosshatch clearly visible and looking very fresh. All deck surfaces are in great shape. The engine was pulled out as I'm parting the car out. I will be listing a turbo kit shortly as well.

The motor was $5k from Crawford. I'd like to get $3500 USD for this one and I'll cover the shipping within the USA or Canada.

I took leakdown numbers before removing the engine to support the sale and these are also attached. I only ever used Rotella T5 5w40 with this motor with frequent changes every ~3k miles.

Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Thanks,

Mike

I also have the original subaru shortblock box for shipping which has wooden reinforcements inside and encases the entire shortblock in foam for support. It was shipped this way from Crawford.

Double bagged, in the original subaru box with wooden reinforcements. I'll wedge additional foam around the two ends with air space so it's fully encased in foam.

Any paperwork?

I'm just jumping into project cars and I think this would be great for my brz I want to boost. Does everything you need to put this together (besides gaskets etc) bolt up from the OEM FA20 or are there any specialty parts I'll need to buy as well?

I purchased a built '13 FRS local to me a few years back. The back of the car was smashed, but the front end + a crawford turbo kit was untouched in the accident. I pulled the good parts to install in my car. I know the previous owner, and the engine/turbo kit was installed 1-2k miles before the crash, so it was all in new condition when I got my hands on it.

I've been running the motor in my gtx2871r FRS since then. I use the car for autox and time attack/lapping.

I have the back and forth e-mails with Crawford confirming the compression ratio based on the original owner's name and serial number. The serial number is in the photos attached, and can be confirmed with Crawford. They were quick to get back to me when I reached out to ensure it was 10.5:1.

Feel free to PM me for the original owner's name, which could be referenced when contacting Crawford to confirm.

You would need new OEM head gaskets, aftermarket ARP headbolts, and that's about it. You'd want a tube of Threebond 1217H, and new o-rings/gaskets for the build.

Bump price reduced to $3250 shipped.

Also have DW700 injectors, DSS 600 hp axles, Clutchmasters FX400, MAP turbo kit with GTX2871r which I'll be posting up in a new thread shortly.

Thanks for the interest everyone. I have some shipping quotes to verify and a new job starting tomorrow which is two weeks on two weeks off. As such, I'll be a bit slow replying to any PMs and I won't be able to finalize any sales until I'm back on Dec 16th. Thanks for the patience everyone!
