LCA won't line up?
2 Attachment(s)
I have a GR86 and installed some Gen1 HKS Hipermax IV SPs on them. The install went fine, just took a little longer than I expected. Fast forward a few months and I'm getting some creaking noises from the rear. So I went back there and took the LCA down, inspected the strut and it all looked good.
Now comes the problem. For some reason the LCA won't line up correctly. It's as if the LCA is too long or the wheel hub is too close. I uploaded 2 pics, one showing the LCA connected at the subframe and another showing the LCA connected at the wheel hub. I've gone through installation videos and from what I can tell, the wheel hub should be lower than the subframe at this point and I should be able to attach the LCA to both the subframe and the hub, then use a jack to raise it up to the strut and the endlink. That's what I did during the install. I can't figure this out! This is a 2022 also, but I believe the install is essentially the same. |
From pics wheel hub seems angled as with lots of positive camber, thus moving LCA inwards too much, no?

Do you have the parking brake on?

Undo parking brake, push wheel hub out to line up lca and put the bolt in.
Nothing in your photo looks wrong, that’s just what happens when you undo the lca, the wheel hub flops down towards the center of the car. Also I’ve never used a jack to do this part of the assembly, just pushed things into place by hand. |

Yup. I left my parking brake on and had the same issue when I first installed mine years ago. Took me 2 days to figure out what the problem was lol
