Question about Cusco Vs SPL

Hey everyone,

I am looking for some insightful advice as to what components are better if any.

I typically like to stick it out with 1 manufacturer and would like some helpful advice as to what you folks suggest, Cusco, SPL, or any other brand for complete suspension upgrade(s).

I really like to look of the SPL components because they tend to go with my entire car's theme, however, I do want reputable parts that are worth the money.

I will drag this car once n a while, lol, once I learn how to get sideways, possibly drift it as well.

Either way, I have an AirLift suspension, will be running a full widebody kit, and around 700+ HP max...if that helps?

I look forward to hearing from you folks and appreciate the advice in advance.

V/R,
Ace

SPL and Cusco are both proven, either will be fine. Racer-x, Verus, Voodoo13, White line, PartsShopMax, Whiteline, it's all good stuff. Avoid lowest dollar parts and Google with the following strategy - BRAND PART FT86CLUB

Example:. CUSCO LCA FT86CLUB

The Cusco parts are made from multiple pieces of aluminum and welded together. The SPL units are milled from one solid piece of aluminum. The Cusco parts are more affordable than the SPL versions. SPL is an American company if that matters to you. They both probably perform functionally equivalent to each other.

SPL does not make rear upper control arms, so if you want to replace all of the suspension arms you won't be able to have all SPL. I recently contacted SPL to ask about them making RUCAs for the 86 and they said it is something they are looking into. Who knows how long the development could take, though.

You should also consider Racer X. They make some nice control arms.

Yeah, that is another consideration as well. Cusco, unlike SPL has a multitude of suspension parts, whereas, SPL is fairly limited.

I appreciate the info folks, and yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll just look into Cusco products.

Don't, leave it here for other people. That's what makes forums better. ;)

Don't delete the thread, lol. The point of the forum is so other people can come read this post in the future.

For what it's worth - my dream setup is all SPL suspension components.

SPL makes literally every suspension control arm for the 86 except the RUCAs.

Haha, ahhh, gotcha.

Yeah, I just didn't want to keep posting more and more threads...but what you're saying makes sense.

Thanks!
