All those "ICE cars will be around forever" folks take note. When Dodge cans two of their best selling vehicles in history it really means something!

Police will be down to driving Volts soon.

i was curious how dodge was going to handle the transition. still am. they worked themselves into a corner with the headline high-horsepower vehicles

Direct connection now has electric implications. I like evs but only as a choice. Again, Chrysler exists thanks to govt intervention so all the products that are less appealing to glacier huggers and storefront smashers must go.

Now they can create the "Electric musclecars" that are even heavier than these porkers!

Resistence is futile, because that's all you'll be able to buy. It's been a while since i've seen an upcoming ICE new model that is of much interest. The Dodge Hornet is about the closest....

If cops don't go in on Mustangs I'm going to be disappointed.

Also can guarantee that donut shop parking lots will be as backed up as their drive-throughs are now.

Dodge Charger Daytona SRT

"Back to the sound. This is the industry's first exhaust system for an electric vehicle, producing a similar 126-decibel sound as the one coming from the today's Hellcat engine. Dodge calls it "Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust." When the Daytona converts electricity to power, air flows through the exhaust system and the sound produced goes through an amplifier and tuning chamber at the rear of the vehicle. You can see and feel the pressure from the exhaust coming out the back."

Maybe fake exhausts will catch on.

the cops around the midwest have almost entirely transitioned to tahoes and explorers. volts are unlikely for quite a while.

if you hadn't heard before, the michigan state troopers do comprehensive testing of pursuit vehicles. their testing is highly respected across the nation, and generally sets the tone for pursuit vehicle aquisitions for the rest of the year.

here's 2022, from what i can tell, one of the first years they've tested an ev:
https://www.michigan.gov/msp/-/media...A2DF0EB9D8F7F7

they tested the mach-e. it comes in at or near the bottom of almost every test except braking and mpg, with major point reductions in interior space/comfort. so it's somewhat unlikely that many departments will buy many for general use.

this is entirely false. first from an OEM maybe, but not the first EV exhaust.

Wonder if there’s better sound or mechanism for them you know? I don’t want a v12 noise for my supercharged 4 cylinder.
