Awful, terrible mistake...
More of a warning, this one...
Took a chap at work for a spin (no, not literally) in my BRZ a few weeks ago. He's been looking for a new car for a while. The short ride convinced him and he went looking for a test drive. He found a dealer with a GT86 in and went for a test drive with his wife in the back. She was all but sick and has banned him from getting one of those "awful, uncomfortable, bouncy piles of s@@t"... If you're going for a test drive with the other half in tow, go for two runs. Give her a chauffeur quality ride around town getting all the admiring glances and then a second one, on your own, down the back roads, lots of corners... |
why sit in the back? haha
and how is he driving that would give somebody car sickness? I had 2 5"10 passengers and this was 2.5 hour drives and they were perfectly fine. |
His first mistake was marrying her.
|
Well if they are sharing the car then her complaints have merit. But if he intends on getting the car for himself without her financial help, then she's just trolling bro. Ignore her. :bellyroll:
If you are going to get married, get two cars. Get her a car first so you wont get any yap yap yap. Then get your own car. If she has a problem with your car, she dont have to ride man. |

my back seats are used for my wifes handbag & my coat/jacket, she loves it! |
my fiance has told me off for buying one. Her bitching would have merit if she contributed ANYTHING to the household! I pay for everything so she can say NOTHING ;)

Man hearing all these guys with their domineering wives/gf makes me sad. :( Glad I'm still single. To all the single fellas stay single as long as possible or at least until you get your FRS/BRZ first. :happy0180:

I ended up getting my car BECAUSE of my wife. We were looking at various 4 door cars because she thought that it would be best for kids in the future. Then one day I get a call from her saying "How much is that new Scion, it looks really nice".
That day we went to the dealer, I showed her that you could fit a baby seat in the back and we went off for a test drive. Now my Whiteout 6MT is going to be here on the 24th! I love my wife. |
I'm in a similar boat to jadewjb. Fitting the child seats was the clincher to get a two door coupe. She'd spotted how I'd been waiting for a replacement to my AE86 for years and years, but kept muttering about the two boys and worrying about them fitting in the back, but now we've got it she's as happy as can be about it. The boys love it too.
Oh and for all those family men being steered away for something more practical, the four of us have just been on a weeks holiday in it to the Isle of Man (There are videos and links to some launch event during the TT week elsewhere, if you enjoy jealousy!!). I reckon there's almost as much useful carrying capacity as her BMW X1! The biggest upside was sneaking out around the speed limit free mountain roads at night when the boys were tucked up in bed. |

Just because you fall in love and get married doesn't mean you have to surrender your balls. A marriage is supposed to be a partnership. In that guy's case, his wife dominates him and he is submissive to her. That's fine and dandy if you're both in the bedroom and have leather outfits on, but in real life, he needs to get back his manhood. JMHO.
