Tomei "slip joint bracket" weld broken
1 Attachment(s)
Got a broken weld on my tomei header at the "slip joint bracket" holder piece (top and bottom sides of the right bracket in the picture).
How critical is this bracket to the slip joint if the header is all bolted on? I'll probably take this to get the weld fixed but I thought the expansion of the slip joint usually seals the joint. Is this bracket just for "shipping and handling" rigidity? Also wondering if the bracket is suppose to be loosened and adjusted during the install to prevent static strain due to gaskets etc. because I never did that |
If the exhaust isn't leaking or rattling, I wouldn't worry about it.
(of course, at my age, there ain't much that I do worry about - :sigh:) Bubba says to just wrap a couple loops of baling wire around it and twist it tight. - :iono: |
