Edelbrock stock tune file

Hey guys, I am not sure if this has been covered, but I purchased a used Edelbrock kit with the ECUTEK cable and dongle. Will I be able to use this for the standard tune or will I have to request or purchase a new tune? What's the best way of going about this? Or do I go with a Delicious tune or CSG tune?

Thanks

You will need your own license. The tune is available directly from Edelbrock.

Unless it’s a 2020. They told me I’m fucked.

Don’t know if you’ve gone over the install directions, but do it several times. Goes over the ECUTEK portion as well.

Anyone have an ECUTEK that I can rent or buy?

I'm in Sunnyvale and I am installing an Edelbrock SC(came with the car) on my new to me 2013 FR-S. This car was bought from a guy who knew nothing about it's history so I have been piecing things together. I have two ECU's and they have both been modified. Found this out the hard way by failing emissions sooooo......One ECU I think is already tuned for the SC and the other is for the stock intake and that is what I am running now.

I am purely guessing that both ECU's have an Ecutek LICENSE.

I need to borrow or buy an ECUtek to install the CARB legal eforce file so they can issue me the CARB legal sticker. Anyone in my area?

How did you buy the car if it doesn't pass smog in CA? Out of curiosity's sake.

I got it from a kid that bought it from a kid and he didn't know much about it so now I'm picking up the pieces. CA changed the rules last July so a modified ECU can no longer be used. I think the exception is CARB legal kits like the Edelbrock Supercharger. So that is why I need to get the correct ECU file from Edelbrock and swap the file for what is currently loaded. That is why I need an ECUTEK. I can get on ebay easily but I wanted to finish the project by this Sunday.

You need an ECUTEK license that’s specific to your vin.

Interesting. I won't know which of these ECUs matches the VIN until I get an ECUtek installed to see which one has a license is what I'm guessing. I'm actually guessing that it needs the ecutek. It could have been modified with open tablet etc. I'm guessing it's an ECUTek tune because it has rev matching and I know that is something ECUTek offers.

Smog shops have no way of verifying the tune in your ECU....yet.... Just show the EO code for the Edelbrock and you will be fine.

Isn't the whole point that they check to see what tune you have loaded? Interesting.

What's wrong with the 2020s?

They just have to prove that the parts and tune are carb compliant. Which was (is) low on their priorities. They’re a huge fucking company.
