FR-S Release date questions.

If theres already a thread about this could someone please post the link on here for me. Anyways, when exactly is scion planning the release the FR-S in the US. I hear its spring of 2012; however, it seems to me that the scion is the most promising of the three models. With that being said, Toyota and Subaru have already announced their dates to be in April of 2012, which to me is more specific than just spring of 2012. Anyone got any answers???

Please go on.

Edit: should add that no official date has been released for when they go on sale besides for spring. We should know more in Dec after Tokyo.

Considering the fact that scions is the only one with the car on their US website points me towards believing that it is the most promising.

Edit: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=926 It actually is official that subaru and toyota are releasing in april.

Well the Toyota won't come to NA as the Scion badged version will come in its place. The Subaru version will also be in NA. The rest of the world will get the Toyota version instead of the Scion + whatever countries Subaru decides to bring their coupe to. However in the US the Scion and Subaru are confirmed. So if promising = being sold in NA to you, then both are equally promising. No need to worry about that.

I think the OP confused the Toyota/Scion as two separate models for NA where they are one and the same. But world wide there will just be the two, Toyota/Scion and Subaru.

Correct, I suppose that makes sense then as to why toyota would'nt have anything posted on their website.

Anyways back to the question, so for all we know scion is just spring of 2012? it hasn't been narrowed down to a specific month yet?

Nope nothing official yet; just rumors and spring 2012/ Q1 2012 being the best guesstimate right now. Wait until Dec for the actual release date. Also, not sure how the earthquake in Japan has affected Subaru's production plan and if they have had to push back the 86 program a few months. There was a post on here that rumored that could be the case. But no one knows 100%. Wait until Dec.
