Site Maintenance Timing

Out of curiosity, was the downtime for site maintenance yesterday specifically timed by the admins of this group, or is this one of many sites hosted on a server somewhere, with no say in when maintenance occurs?

I ask because normally Sunday, during odd hours is the best time to do maintenance, and it normally requires the IT folks to begrudgingly work unusual hours so as not to inconvenience the general public.

However, yesterday's outage was, in the opinion of myself and my friend, almost comically bad timing. Nobody *needs* FT86Club mid-day during the week when we're all at work. You know when folks need it? Sunday afternoon when they're trying to finish putting their car back together before the work week starts... only to find that ALL of the references they'd had bookmarked for the project are now unavailable.

I understand you likely don't have any control over when downtime occurs, but if you do have the ability to influence it, please consider choosing ANY other time than the weekend. Your IT folks will appreciate it, and all the people trying to rush a job over the weekend will appreciate not flying into a rage when the "3-4 hours" of downtime turns into 8 hours of their Sunday wasted googling obscure torque specs that seemingly ONLY exist on various FT86Club threads :P

I saw nothing wrong with the delay. It gave me a reason to relax.

99% of my forum time is mid day at work :iono: Like right now I have it open on one screen while I am going over some reports.

Being on the forum ****ing around at work is different than actually needing the forum while working on your car trying to get it ready FOR work ;)

Lol yeah.

I do have the service manual link from Ulta’s sig saved to my bookmarks. I usually reference that.
