FWIW: I set my Accusump up with a push/pull cable. I had problems with 3 different electric valves. The one from Accumsump stopped working and 2 from Moroso leaked.

Hit it on the head! I don't use electric ones due to issues as well. I'm either going to use a cable or just mount the ball valve on the trans tunnel, earls have a good-looking valve that I think would look nice in the cockpit. https://www.holley.com/products/plum...arts/230510ERL it's really expensive for a ball valve since you can just use a brass one from Home Depot for like $10 and run a throttle cable to it.

Wheels are finally being produced, takes 3 weeks which isn't really bad in my opinion. They sent some pics of the style of the barrel (it is the wheels at the back of the picture, the fronts are for smaller ones like a 8" barrel) and CAD drawing for brake caliper clearance (they have already done fitment with multiple brake setups) and what they will look like before the candy color is applied- called super chrome. Anthony at Koya has been very helpful through the process and made things easy. Much excite!!

Well shoot, now you've got me contemplating wheel setups for my car lol
These are really cool!

Looks like you get a bit more aero parity between classes as of this rule update today :)

I was just starting to formulate on this! Moaar aero everywhere! The canards are pretty useless but it get GTS class cars in which is nice. The diffuser and bigger splitter - that now also go back to the firewall is awesome. I wish they would allow diffusers for the splitter -ie tunnels.
The subframe swap is a big thing too, i have friends with ls swapped miata's and such that can now come play in 4, so that is a big bonus for me fun wise!
I was also debating on using a restrictor plate and running a mechanical throttle body versus multiple throttle body detunes to get that extra power (.3) since I have the ability to adjust so easily. Probably have to run a 45mm plate or aka a straw

RedReplicant 11-17-2022 01:49 PM

Yeah, bunch of nice quality of life changes for 4 this year for sure.

I think it is funny Greg finally clamped down on the Continental flashed MK60 units in 4, and I find it even more funny that people are upset about it. I wish he'd have allowed other swaps (S197, RX8 non-DSC, etc) but that is what it is.

Right! Yeah, a lot of people paid good money for that, and it flew under the radar for a long time. I too feel they need to open that range of options up, it's not like it's some huge performance gain over the teves.

gt5759 11-23-2022 01:23 PM

Nothing real exciting for the moment but a little more done, shifter assembly is built and works great. Finished painting more parts and started on the wing mounting and dash panel, will have that all sorted here in a day or so. A Haltech 2500 is on the way as of yesterday, I love black Friday sales! Was hoping for a sale on the AIM pdm32 with 6" screen but not seeing anything. I was holding off on a lot of purchases in hopes of deals, but I can't wait no mo! Sakebomb garage is having a sale to, so the front brake kit is on the way.
Also, silly but helps to motivate me, I had to roll the car outside to move customer stuff around and it just felt good to see it outside and on the ground for a minute. :D

I will also be finishing the floor plate for the pedals by adding a backstop for a footrest next to the clutch pedal.

gt5759 11-28-2022 12:06 PM

Starting to look like a car again

Weight is looking good so far, numbers are pre bumper bar replacement but those are only worth like 1-2lbs since I am more focused on strength - 1.25 chromoly tubing. Front fascia is cut and ready for grille material, ordered factory fog light fillers for the sides. Plenty of room now up front for ducting, oil cooler and intake ducting.

I have been avoiding the dash as I'm waiting for the instrument display, pdm and canbus pad to arrive for fitment. I should have wing mounting finalized soon as well but need that to arrive too  hurry up and wait!

You bet and thanks! I'll post up ahead of time when I go south, I was thinking about some testing at MSR or the like, I will get to looking at the calendar the closer I get to finishing.

Sounds good. I'm hoping to do a lot of the season this coming year.

Got a little bit done this week, been sick again so not moving very fast on anything. Finished up the deck lid, rebar's and bumper covers. Waiting on the rear tow hook to arrive and will be making mounts and front aero soon!
For those wondering on the front grille opening, everything behind it will be closed off except for a much smaller opening, it will basically look blacked out when done.

Looks good! From experience I would blue loctite the push button latches as I have had them rattle apart and lose body panels!

gt5759 12-09-2022 11:27 AM

Much excite! New wheels are being finished and shipping out Tuesday! These still need the final top coat and polish but Koya was extremely accurate, it takes only about 3 weeks to get them. Loving the finish in the pictures, usually if it looks this good on a phone they look better in person.

Now if the rest of my parts would arrive that would be greaaaaaaat....

Silly update on the wheels. They are shipped now and show a eta of the 19th, so that's good news! Kinda cool they sent some glamour shots before boxing them up. Side note they do include center caps and weight spec is 18lbs for 17x10 which is right on par for a semi forged/flow formed/whatever wheel lingo you want to use, spun formed wheels.

I think that's a bit better weight wise for a 17x10 wheel.

Main ducting done, still need to make dividers for the oil cooler, brake ducts and intake (parts need to arrive) but overall pretty happy with the look. Lots of stuffs arriving this week so hopefully I can get to knocking things out, next season is coming faster than I want at the moment :D

Lots of little things done with some extra time on hand. Still waiting for a lot of parts to arrive.

Wheels! I can't get my phone to convey the color and how nice the finish is, almost don't want to race them :bellyroll: shipping was a week from door to door and no problems with customs. So overall a very pleasurable experience and look forward to ordering my other sets now that I know fitment is right.

Fitment! Room for activities!
https://i.imgur.com/DmPTyT1.jpg

Spindle centered in strut hole, wheel has about 6mm clearance at +40ET, no spacer.
https://i.imgur.com/b431zYp.jpg

Front fenders do not need rolled at 3.5" or above, I will roll mine anyways as I do it on every race car just in case.
https://i.imgur.com/lrGiXuM.jpg

We could easily fit 11" wheels in the rear under stock panels. Food for thought.

Finished the intake, just did the copy and past of a vast majority of ls swaps as it just works. K&N 2013 ls3 corvette intake.

Decided to get the dash panel done, going to mount the gauge panel on the column behind the wheel, that way it always moves with the wheel position and mount the canbus pad down low on the tunnel or maybe up high on the cage, will decide once parts get here. Oh park brake is installed as well in front of the shifter.

I REALLY like the way you did the dash. You are proficient with the bead roller.

blsfrs 12-28-2022 09:30 AM

In the dash, there are 3 fluid reservoirs. Brake, clutch, blinker fluid? With the windshield in, how much room do you have to get the caps off/on?

front brakes and rear brakes; its a dual master cylinder setup.

Plenty of room to remove the cap and fill with a bottle. The pics are kind of deceiving, but the panel is far lower than what the stock dash top is.

More work done in between holiday stuffs! Wing mounts are done and had to change wing manufacturers since the communication level with top stage composites was complete shite :bs: so now I am going with AJHartman's fulcrum 14. Only bad thing is the wait time, which is about 2 months right now but at least I know I am getting it as AJ's communication is great.
Coolant reservoir/tank is almost done as is the crank case breather tank, just need a few more fittings to complete. Still kind of debating on the breather tank design, its simple and functional but I just feel like it's pretty plane, having a bit of designer's block :bonk:. Both of them will be painted with the satin black steel-it like the dash. I plan on doing the intake manifold and valve covers anodized/candy red.

Not much done but had a moment between cars to mount up some temp slicks to check fitment and what I need to do for clearance. Fitment is great, just need some upper control arms in the rear and they will clear like the fronts. Don't mind the stance at the moment, its not even remotely right and almost all the suspension in the back is just finger tight so it kind of flops around.

I'm pretty happy with the look. Figuring out livery will be a bit of a challenge but that's half the fun!

That looks soooo good. I also always laugh a bit when I see what a 225 Hoosier looks like on a 10.

Bumper grille looks like it could have been OEM.

Right! Ya gotta love hoosier playing size games, let's make a 10" section width tire and call it a 225. Oh and fyi for anyone doing the NASA thing, these clear the 266mm by about 2mm. A 245 hoosier is waaay over on a 10" barrell, by like 15mm haha.

Speaking of tires, I am thinking the first set of tires I try will be the maxxis RC1 vs the toyo RR. I feel like they could be a solid contender especially at about 255.00 a tire shipped, but I do feel toyo's contingency for winning is better. With either tire I can have 240whp at 2400lbs in ST4.

MX-5RACER 01-18-2023 09:07 AM

The Toyo and the Nitto NT-01R's are very similar and suck compared to a Hoosier, but they suck for a LONG time (In other words, they are not as fast as a Hoosier, duh, but they last a long freaking time). I prefer the NT-01R's over the Toyo's as the Nitto's handle a bit more slip angle on exit than the Toyo's. Let me also add that I have zero time in a Twin on either, but hundreds of laps in a Miata on both, so take it with a grain of salt.
