In the dash, there are 3 fluid reservoirs. Brake, clutch, blinker fluid? With the windshield in, how much room do you have to get the caps off/on?

Plenty of room to remove the cap and fill with a bottle. The pics are kind of deceiving, but the panel is far lower than what the stock dash top is.

The quality of this build astounds me. This looks to be turning out really nicely. Hopefully it will be as fast as it is pretty.

More work done in between holiday stuffs! Wing mounts are done and had to change wing manufacturers since the communication level with top stage composites was complete shite :bs: so now I am going with AJHartman's fulcrum 14. Only bad thing is the wait time, which is about 2 months right now but at least I know I am getting it as AJ's communication is great.
Coolant reservoir/tank is almost done as is the crank case breather tank, just need a few more fittings to complete. Still kind of debating on the breather tank design, its simple and functional but I just feel like it's pretty plane, having a bit of designer's block :bonk:. Both of them will be painted with the satin black steel-it like the dash. I plan on doing the intake manifold and valve covers anodized/candy red.

Not much done but had a moment between cars to mount up some temp slicks to check fitment and what I need to do for clearance. Fitment is great, just need some upper control arms in the rear and they will clear like the fronts. Don't mind the stance at the moment, its not even remotely right and almost all the suspension in the back is just finger tight so it kind of flops around.

I'm pretty happy with the look. Figuring out livery will be a bit of a challenge but that's half the fun!

That looks soooo good. I also always laugh a bit when I see what a 225 Hoosier looks like on a 10.

Bumper grille looks like it could have been OEM.

Right! Ya gotta love hoosier playing size games, let's make a 10" section width tire and call it a 225. Oh and fyi for anyone doing the NASA thing, these clear the 266mm by about 2mm. A 245 hoosier is waaay over on a 10" barrell, by like 15mm haha.

Speaking of tires, I am thinking the first set of tires I try will be the maxxis RC1 vs the toyo RR. I feel like they could be a solid contender especially at about 255.00 a tire shipped, but I do feel toyo's contingency for winning is better. With either tire I can have 240whp at 2400lbs in ST4.

The Toyo and the Nitto NT-01R's are very similar and suck compared to a Hoosier, but they suck for a LONG time (In other words, they are not as fast as a Hoosier, duh, but they last a long freaking time). I prefer the NT-01R's over the Toyo's as the Nitto's handle a bit more slip angle on exit than the Toyo's. Let me also add that I have zero time in a Twin on either, but hundreds of laps in a Miata on both, so take it with a grain of salt.

Just 240whp?

RedReplicant 01-24-2023 02:56 PM

His whp graph is going to be a flat line from like idle to rev limit lmao

It can be a bit confusing if a person doesn't know what the class rules are. NASA ST/TT4 is power to weight class so that's where the limitation comes from. I will be running in other classes and unlimited style ones for things like GTA/SLB and GL in which all of the power will be attempted to be used. ST4 is my primary focus though.

RedReplicant hit it on the head, it will make 240whp from idle to a 8k rpm redline and sound fantastic while doing it. One of the main reasons I went down this powertrain path was to combat the BMW's that are doing basically the same thing in ST4 but I decided to turn the knob to 11.

Much stopping power! I decided to throw on the front brakes last night to make sure fitment is good and was very pleased. Sakebomb garage makes a great kit that you can upgrade a little bit as I chose to do so. Wilwood superlite calipers that use 20mm thick pads, APracing 325mmx32mm 70 vane floating rotors. Kit comes with all nicely plated hardware, jet nuts and floating clips. Rotor hats and mounting brackets are nicely anodized and machined well. Rotors come pre assembled. Wheel spoke clearance is beyond safe as well, I can shove my hand in between the caliper and spoke.

Dont mine my rusty as parts :bonk: I need to get to doing the suspension soon.

I think your rotors are on the wrong side of the car.

Correct! So, no one use these pictures for rotor direction reference!

That'll teach me to throw something on the car and not pay attention if I'm taking pictures! :bonk:
