Spike lugnuts for '13 FR-S?

Hi everyone,

What do you folks think of adding red spiked lug nuts to a 2013 FR-S? Is there something very specific I should know before I actually install it? Does anyone have spike lugnuts and can say a couple of words about this mod for me, as I have never had them on any of my vehicles.
Also, what material do you folks recommend, aluminum or stainless steel?
Thanks!

Spiked lug nuts will just be a bling factor, I don't know that there is anything specific about them that is an upside or downside. I haven't owned any so I can't make any additional commentary on that. As for material, out of those two options, you're always better off with steel for stronger lugs, especially if you autocross or track your car. I have purchased aluminum in the past for other vehicles and had no issues, but I have read some horror stories about them.

Most importantly, be sure you are getting the correct thread pitch - 12x1.25, otherwise they won't fit or you will ruin your studs.

I don’t know about spike lug nuts much but if your car is RED then go for it, the color will bring more bling per dollar than the spikes…

Will Spike lugs be beneficial at cutting down the tendency of stripping the weak studs that have been reported on the twins, no chance at using an impact gun ?

I have a red car, most of my mods revolve around can I get it in RED?

I changed my valve covers to RED and it was not because my black plastic ones were not up to the job!
But than again I haven’t checked my tire pressure since I put them on 2 years ago so they must be good.

Would they pass inspection at any track (or car show for that matter)?

Saw a Camaro at a HPDE day once with spiked lug nuts. When I was torquing my lugs he asked me what I had in my hand and what was I doing. OP don’t be that guy!

Lol, that's not me, man.
I saw a Mustang with neochrome lug nuts and thought of installing red ones for myself. By the way, yes, my FR-S is red, so I thought the color will match and it will be a great combo. Sure thing, this is not the mod that will stay forever haha
