I run 255 on the rears of mine and they're 9.5 and look perfect. Anything wider on the rears will not only look bad but be overkill. The car doesn't need that much meat and going past 265 on a 9.5 makes the tires muffin top over the wheels which looks really bad. 255/35/18 are what you need.

Crawford is struggling with 285's in the rear and their turbo kit. It's too much for stock yes but he could be throwing a turbo or supercharger kit on it.

I have 255 DWS on my 9.5 rear. I wish I got 265 because the 255 is a mild stretch, the lip of the rim is just slightly beyond the edge of the tire. I think it depends on brand though because I have seen some 255 that fit decent. So for rear I would say 255 or 265.

Not sure what you are limited to in the front to not rub tho...

Looking for opinions on what is the right upgrade for the tires and wheels for my car. I don't plan to track it anytime in the near future, but want a setup that is ideal for AutoX. I don't plan on driving on this setup daily as I have the OEM wheels and a new set of tires for that. Here's my current considerations/combinations:

I'm going to dropping the car on RCE 20mm drop springs with a higher spring rate (OEM is 153lbs/in front and 131lbs/in rear, vs 250lbs/in all around) and adding new Whiteline front 20mm and rear 16mm adjustable sway bars (OEM is 18mm front and 14mm rear) with the adjustable end links. I'll also be running the Whiteline COMC tophats, front lower camber bolts, and new rear upper arm bushing with camber adjustment.

I'm trying to decide if a wider wheel and tire is worth the additional weight and what, if any, change in the steering response will be present. I'm also trying to decide if I should run staggered tire sizes as I think a wider rear tire might reduce the tail-happieness of the rear end.

The other thing I'm not sure about is what offset (stock is 48 on 17x7) is right to keep the new setup from rubbing on the strut/spring/outer edge of the wheelwell. Looking at the contact point of the front and rear bumpers makes me think that rolling the fenders to get additional clearance might not work if I want to keep the seam between the fender and the bumpers clean.

Search my user name for posts..I have pics on this forum and one other. I'm running 225/40/18s in the front on 8.5" wide but honestly I'll go with 235s up front next. The rears are dialed in perfect with 255s. Check out my member journal with pics...

Gotta worry about offset if you dont have coilovers

Offset on that wheel is +38, wheeldude ran 9.5 +38 with Eibach Sportlines but coilovers would be better for inner clearance.

245/255 would be good i think
