Blown motor 106k. No track use
I recently received a quote from the dealer for a motor rebuild/replacement. It has 106 miles on it. Was well taken care of, 2013 model. Completely stock. No tune. The motor started knocking after a quick pull on the highway one day. Had it towed to the dealer. Oil level was good and the color was golden. They told me oil level was low and contaminated. It was never tracked. This is sad Subaru. I dont know if it was a bearing, the valve spring recall that wasn't done, or the hole in the map that causes destination with quick shifts. Any advice or help is highly appreciated!

Welcome to ....... The Forum. -
Well now, that's too bad about your car - :sigh: AT or MT? Was you car included in the valve spring recall? Are you (they) sure it's a rod knocking? |
Low engine oil level and doing pulls on the highway, thats exactly how it blew up. What else is there to know? Time miles since last oil change? Last time you actually checked for oil level?

If the vehicle is eligible for the valve spring recall....and it hasn't been done. Are they sure its just not a broken valve spring? It'll make noises similar to rod knock....
