Should we be expecting a 2023 Special Edition?

I was planning on trading in my 2017 for the new 2022 GR86, but it got me thinking to how when I got my 2017, they announced the 860 Special Edition only a few months later, and the TRD Edition with the Brembo brakes came about a year after that, and in the end I kinda regretted not waiting for the 2019 TRD version, so I don't wanna make the jump to a 2022 too soon if we think it'll only take them a year or so to maybe release a special edition with the Brembos and maybe an upgraded exhaust from the factory, so I might hold out for a Special Edition like the 2019 TRD Edition that had the unique bodykit, the TRD exhaust, and Brembo brakes.

There will be special editions. What they will entail beyond paint and interior stitching colour remains to be seen. You don’t stand much chance of getting a 2022 at this point anyway.
Keep in mind it took them 5 years to come out with the TRD version so don’t expect to get one soon.

Oh I can find 2022s, I've already looked at a few, that's not the problem. The problem is I don't wanna buy one then have some cool special edition with the Brembos (that's basically the biggest thing I care about) come out like a year later. Also the FR-S and the 86 had TRD versions come out only 1-2 years after the first model year so I figured based on trends we'd see one for the 2023 or 2024 MY with Brembos etc.

The RS1 that came out in 15 has a special color paint, a 4 tip exhaust and some body panels. Not exactly a TRD version. Took a long time to get Brembos.
The 2023 Special Edition has already been discussed. Brembos are not probable.
You actually have "a few" 86s sitting on lots there?

Yes there's several I can find in WA and OR and surprisingly not a lot of them are marked up off of sticker either which makes it very tempting to pick one up, but I do wanna hold out for a Brembo brake special edition/option package. I don't know why Toyota never did what Subaru did and just offer the Brembo brake package for like I think $1200 option? It was either that or it came standard on the Limited, I worked at a Subaru dealership back in 2017-2018 and I remember a lot of our BRZ's just having the Brembos.
