OEM Clutch Kit From Subaru dealer
Serramonte Subaru quoted me $1100 in just parts for me 2013 BRZ. Seems like a lot. Am I trippin or?
|
I was quoted about 800 from numerous non-dealer shops for it a few years back
|
I see about $800 if you have to replace the flywheel. Almost half that if just the main clutch parts.

My dealer did the clutch and flywheel swap for $1200 out the door. Parts were ~$800 IIRC. |

Sorry this is in Florida, just wanted to give another datapoint for parts costs. |
Why go to a dealer? Find a small speed shop familiar with working on the car. Should be 1-1.5k including labor depending on what clutch you want

The OEM clutch is made by Exedy
Exedy Part FJK1005 Clutch Kit - If you search online you can pick it up for around 300 Exedy Part TYF001 Flywheel - 160 bucks Rockauto.com is highly reputable to source OEM parts. You just need to have a little bit of knowledge of the OEM part numbers. Prices are some of the best out there. If you are doing the clutch, I would highly recommend doing the Verus Clutch Fork and Pivot Ball along with a new OEM throw out Bearing. (You can get the TOB at the dealer for under 35 bucks) |
Are you sure they are the same? I've found Exedy 'oem replacement' clutches are not the same as oem. Take the Exedy part you mention FJK1005 and compare it to the oem clutch:
