Painting Carbon Fiber Hood / Trunk?

16 FR-S Oceanic Blue.
So I live in TX and soon after I moved into my house, got a hail storm (2018ish) and got probably ~10-20 tiny dents, not easily noticeable from 10+ft away, but you can definitely tell they're there. Learned my lesson and got a car cover/park inside during storms.

Since I am a weight reduction junkie, I was thinking of grabbing the Marsh Hood and Duckbutt Trunk as my replacements, but I prefer the completely blue car look instead of a blue body with carbon hood/trunk. Although, it isn't to say I wouldn't like it at all; I'm sure I could appreciate it.

But,
If I were to get the hood/trunk and paint them body color, will it show a carbon look through the paint?
Other than the variations that newly painted panels may show vs. 6-yr old paint, Will it be darker or a different shade due to the carbon underneath?

Should I even bother painting? (pics welcome)

I think the primary reason people don't paint carbon body parts is resale value.

Dry carbon parts are lighter, most of the parts available are wet carbon, which is usually a fiberglass layup for panel strength, with a thin layer of carbon on top for aesthetics.

Wet carbon is more of an aesthetic choice than a weight choice.

Unless you paint a dry carbon piece, the texture will not be visible

The only way to get wet carbon fiber to be visible is for them to mix the body color paint with clear coat-- like 10-25% paint to clear ratio. It will always appear darker though. Just more 'intentional'.

The option I've wanted to do for a long time is a carbon painted hood with stripes or scoops masked off to reveal the carbon without being the entire hood of a non-body color
