Comprised of 3” and 2.5” T304L stainless steel with a hefty wall thickness of .065”, the Touring Edition features a bullet-style resonator in the mid-pipe and a set of patented 180 Technology® resonators residing in the rear to decimate any drone-prone frequencies from the exhaust note while keeping the flow of power uninterrupted. By controlling the size and location of the ports and the chambers, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies. I ordered the Touring one in black, I'm tempted to also get the touring-to-track kit so I can try them both out but i don't think my wife will approve the extra spend haha.
I asked for dB levels in the other thread but they didn't have any. I have a dB meter so whenever I get mine, I'll do my best to record that and share. |

For the record, I find it hard to believe AWE does not have acoustic data, since they would have had to record the noise to evaluate which frequencies need canceling out (to size the 1/4 wave length of the 180* out of phase resonators), and then afterwards to confirm the resonance frequencies have indeed been quieted down. |
