Dealer markup in Australia
 

Heya, in New Zealand, there is no dealer markup. Toyota fixed the price and no dealer can sell more or less than that price. Is it same in Australia? if not then how is the situation there. Cheers.

Thankfully dealer delivery charges are very similar and somewhat regulated by Toyota unlike some manufacturers like Ford who I had a terrible experience with a variance of over $4000 between dealers.

This made me curious as in North America there is very little control of dealerships through either the manufacturer or legislation.
It appears that Australia has this well under control though.

Aussie Subaru dealers didn’t mark up for pre-orders - I think we’ll see the same from Toyota. Demonstrators may see gouging (like with Land Cruisers)
