how exactly does this eliminate course workers?

do the cones self-right themselves, and then drive back to their original position?

Fun fact, this is how they did cone penalties in the 80s, briefly. Then they got sick of chasing the balls and tethered them to the cones. Then got rid of the balls completely. The history of autox is a weird one.
