Locking the door....

Did you know you could just leave your finger in one spot near the sensor for 2-3 seconds to lock it vs sliding it?

Deepseadiver 08-18-2012 03:11 PM

Yes, now I will have to try it the sliding way.

You're suppose to slide it?... I've always just place my finger on the sensor...
Call me OCD, but I would have to oppose to the "sliding" method as I fear it may scratch the paint on the handle.

I've always just tapped the lock sensor.

Subie 08-18-2012 04:01 PM

I've been doing this from day one.

ashtray 08-18-2012 04:26 PM

I just give it a 1 second touch with the back of my fingers on the sensor.

sbxjap 08-18-2012 05:46 PM

Slide it? That works? Hmm...

I just place finger on second, or use back of palm if my hands are full.

pinoyplaya 08-18-2012 05:48 PM

o.O you're supposed to slide it? I normally just hold it there.

I think its how long you hold it for. And since your sliding it, youre actually holding it for the required amount of time unless you slide your finger out of its sensor.

chandz05 08-19-2012 02:15 PM

I've never slid my fingers over it, or held them there. Just a light tap usually works, even in the rain

What sensor are we talking about?

Door handle locking/unlocking sensors (with the smart-key). They're on the Subaru BRZ Sport-Tech, and the Toyota 86/GT86.

poudre 08-19-2012 02:52 PM

Now if the horn would just honk when you lock the car with the door handle sensor.

pinoyplaya 08-19-2012 02:55 PM

^^ Yea, I want the horn to chirp when the alarm to let me know that the alarm is activated and doors are locked.

Sh4rp 08-19-2012 02:55 PM

Hmm, ive always pressed the button. Ill try this
